Nutritional Therapy

This is Raworth’s main nutrition award for which the Dietary Therapy Diploma is an entry requirement.

On qualifying you can apply for full membership of BANT, allowing you to join the national register and promote your services.

You will be trained to conduct specialist nutritional assessment and implement specific nutritional programmes to meet individual needs, at all stages of life from pre-conceptual to the elderly.

Clinical training takes place at Raworth and meets the NTC core curriculum requirements.

Syllabus

There are NO Core Modules in this diploma.

Subject Specific Modules

Nutritional Management of Disorders: assessment of disorders using specialist nutritional diagnostic tests and providing nutritional treatment for specific conditions

Nutrition for special groups : nutritional treatments for life stage conditions, such as fertility, pregnancy, menopause and childhood

Herbal Medicine : common OTC herbs and use within nutritional treatments

Health Research and Critical Analysis (not needed if you have a science degree): further aspects of critical evaluation.

Clinical Practice Level Two and Three: using diagnostic evaluation, evidence based practice and nutritional treatment plans in ‘real’ consultations under professional supervision. Level three studies will also develop your reflective skills. All clinical practice takes place at Raworth. There are more than 200 hours of clinical practice and consultation, of which at least 50 hours are observed. These modules include further study in developing the therapeutic relationship with more advanced communication and consultation, based on introductory NLP techniques. This gives you more skills for motivating clients to follow your nutritional treatment plan.

Study Days

70 days: Wednesdays and Thursdays for three terms, plus one term for Clinical Practice Level Three, studying one day per week.

FEES:
Diploma in Nutrition Therapy - Modules in management of disorders, nutrition for special groups, herbal medicine, Nutraceuticals, NLP style communications, further research (for non science graduates only) and clinical practice 2 (Dietary Therapy Diploma prerequisite). Exam fees included in course fee.
