Course Description

Are you a Complementary Health therapist seeking to gain a more formal understanding of the principles, policies & procedures and legislation of providing care for others in a range of settings?

The course will enable you to develop a clear understanding of your specific role and responsibilities and you’ll be shown how you can help to create a safe, healthy environment for yourself and those who you are providing therapies for in the Health Care Sector.

 At the end of training course, you will be provided with a manual and a list of contacts in your area to help you pursue your career as a Therapist in the Care Sector. The course involves an assignment and you will be able to use the course manual to help you complete it. The completion of the assignment will be recognised by Skills for Care, QCF qualifications, The Care Certificate and the Social Care Induction Framework (SCIF). You will also be offered continuing support and guidance via e mail.

Learning Outcomes

Once you have attended the course you will have a clear understanding of the following;

      How to communicate effectively in the health & social care sector.

      Understand and Implement person centred approaches in health and social care.

      The principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care.

      How to promote positive behaviours when working with challenging behaviour.

      Understand and enable interaction and communication with individuals with dementia.

      Understand the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities.

      Understand mental well-being and mental health promotion.

      Be able promote good practice in handling information in health and social care settings.
